Things to do on the Isles of Lewis and Harris
As well as relaxing and un-winding in the cottage there are many things to do. Lewis and Harris are actually just one island, with Harris in the south and Lewis the north. It takes under an hour to reach Harris from the cottage. The Western Isles website has a wealth of information about the area, including a list of day by day events.

Go surfing - locally at Tolsta - or sailing, kayaking, diving or other sea activities:

See the Machair – sensational sping wild flowers rolling down to the beaches
There are plenty of places you can go for both long and shorter Walks. Also both Cycling and Golfing are popular past-times.

Visit the standing stones at Callanish, see where the Viking chess set was found and many other historical sites.
Go sea or game fishing, stalking and shooting
Find a friendly fisherman to buy lobster, crab, scallops or prawns fresh from his boat.
Enjoy a meal, drink or ceilidh in a welcoming hotel or restaurant.
Visit special events such as the Hebridean Celtic Festival or Highland Games.
