Travelling to Lewis
Caledonian MacBrayne operates two excellent and reliable ferry services: 
1. From Ullapool on the mainland to Stornoway.
This crossing is 2hours and 45 minutes. It is then a twenty minute drive to SeaGlen cottage and an hour to Burnside Cottage.

2. From Uig on The Isle Skye to Tarbert on the Isle of Harris.
This crossing is 1 hour and 40 minutes. It is then 5 minutes drive to Burnside Cottage or just over an hour’s drive to SeaGlen cottage.

The Scottish Government have announced a scheme to cut the cost of ferry journeys to and from the Western Isles
There are also regular flights from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Aberdeen and car hire on the islands is relatively inexpensive.
